On January 16-17 the Lithuanian and foreign security policy experts forum, Snow Meeting, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take place in Trakai. The 13th edition of the meeting will address security challenges to the transatlantic community and response to them. The meeting will be attended by Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis and Vice Minister of National Defence Vytautas Umbrasas.

This year the focus will be on strengthening the transatlantic bond, roles of Russia and China in the current geopolitical context, discussion in NATO's objectives in strengthening the transatlantic security.

The Snow Meeting will be attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Latvia Artis Pabriks, Foreign Ministers of Poland and Slovakia Jacek Czaputowicz and Miroslav Lajčák, acting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Reeker and U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defence for Strategy Victorino Mercado, more than 100 of high-ranking diplomats, advisors, MPs, international and security policy experts from think-tanks from roughly 15 countries, NATO and EU institutions. The event will be opened by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius.

The Snow Meeting has been held in January annually, since 2008.
