RedWind Consulting, a renewable energy consulting firm, has successfully procured a Power Purchase Agreement between its client, Campbell County Wind Farm, LLC (CCWF), and Basin Electric Power Cooperative. Under the terms of this arrangement, CCWF will supply Basin Electric with 99MWs of renewable wind energy located in South Dakota.

"We are delighted to have leveraged our extensive experience in wind energy development to help Campbell County Wind Farm win this agreement," said Dan Rustowicz, chief manager of RedWind Consulting. "We look forward to continuing to work on behalf of CCWF to bring this project to successful launch. Based on our growing pipeline of renewable energy initiatives, the industry is clearly in a robust growth mode, which will be further boosted when Congress, hopefully, extends the federal production tax credits."

The transaction is a result of a Request for Proposal (RFP) that Basin Electric issued June 2013. After receiving numerous project bids in excess of 5,000MWs, Basin Electric selected only three wind projects with a combined capacity of 367MWs.

"This is a significant achievement for CCWF and RedWind Consulting was instrumental in our success," states Rob Johnson, principal of Dakota Plains Energy, the project developer for CCWF. "RedWind Consulting worked tirelessly to secure an off-take arrangement with Basin Electric Power Cooperative."

RedWind Consulting actively managed the response to the RFP, was tasked with the respective financial modeling, WTG technical evaluation and is currently conducting advisory services on behalf of the project. The commercial operation date of the project is expected to be on or before December 31, 2015.
