Quake Cottage, LLC, the original mobile earthquake simulator, announces the launch of its newest model, the Quake Cottage™ 9.5. The one-of-a-kind 9.5 model is the latest in an expanding fleet of mobile earthquake simulators, proven to be the most effective tool for inspiring action when it comes to preparation for earthquakes. Quake Cottage will be launching the high-intensity earthquake simulator at a press event at San Francisco City Hall, in partnership with the Earthquake Safety Implementation Program and California Earthquake Authority.

The Quake Cottage 9.5 is the largest simulator of its kind; the first unit in the fleet mounted directly onto a semi-truck. The simulator seats eight people back-to-back, with a dual interior to demonstrate how an earthquake would affect both residential and laboratory environments. Mounted televisions outside of the simulator display the experience in real time, giving observers a real-life glimpse into the massive jolt the simulator replicates. Quake Cottage 9.5 also features an enhanced SeismoDrive™ system that realistically replicates strong earthquake forces, letting participants truly experience what is needed to properly prepare for a possible quake. The unit has state-of-the-art graphics and sound environments to enhance the quality of the experience for the participants, making it the most unique mobile earthquake simulator in the world.

In addition to the simulator room, the Quake Cottage 9.5 also includes an on-board learning center, with an interactive informational kiosk. This kiosk features a huge interactive touch screen system that is programmable and can be modified to display information based on threats to any specific geographic region. The learning center describes local earthquake and tsunami threats along with preparedness news. Useful for industry professionals, facility managers and the general public, the learning center is a great way to get information about the practical dangers of natural disasters in a specific geographic location and how to best prepare for them.

“We are so proud of the Quake Cottage 9.5,” says Quake Cottage founder Michael Essrig. “This model will change the way we help people prepare for earthquakes. By connecting the simulator directly to the transportation vehicle, we can take the 9.5 anywhere in the United States, Canada and Mexico. It’s perfect for corporate group trainings and public preparedness events. This event in conjunction with the City of San Francisco will help us reach the people in Northern California and share the importance of disaster preparedness in all aspects of nature.”

The Quake Cottage 9.5 will launch on January 20, 2016 in San Francisco, California, at a press conference announcing a new public safety program – Earthquake Brace + Bolt. The program offers funding to San Francisco residents to retrofit homes with structural vulnerabilities. In partnership with the California Earthquake Authority and the Earthquake Safety Implementation Program, the Quake Cottage 9.5 will be on-location during the press event to educate the public about the importance of earthquake and disaster preparedness.
