Meeting of the Interinstitutional Committee on the ELI-NP project, coordinated by Prime Minister Nicolae- Ionel Ciucă

Prime Minister Nicolae- Ionel Ciucă coordinated today the meeting of the Interinstitutional Committee on the ELI-NP project. During this meeting, the status of the ELI-NP project was presented, and solutions were identified for its implementation by the end of 2023, under the assumed schedule.

Discussions also addressed how Romania can join the Extreme Light Infrastructure-European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ELI-ERIC) to attain the objective undertaken by our country.

Prime Minister Nicolae- Ionel Ciucă recently paid a working visit to the "Horia Hulubei" National Institute for R&D in Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH). On that occasion, he visited the institute's logistical facilities, experiment rooms and laboratories under the ELI-NP project, and discussed with Romanian researchers about a closer collaboration between the research community, academic milieu and the private sector.

Attending the meeting at Victoria Palace, were: Minister of Finance Adrian Câciu, the Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization Marcel Boloș, the presidential advisers Ligia Deca and Luminița Odobescu, representatives of the Ministries of Investment and European Projects, Foreign Affairs, Ilfov County Council, State Advisor Sorin Costreie, Romania's representative and coordinator of the ELI-NP project, Călin Ur, the director of the ELI-NP project, Director General IFIN-HH Nicolae Mărginean, the chairman of the IFIN-HH Scientific Council.
