Postman, the leading platform for API development, today announced the Postman API Hack, a call for the global developer community to use the power of APIs to build their most creative, innovative, and value-driven projects that address today’s biggest technological challenges.

The hackathon commences today and closes on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021. The winner will be announced at Postman Galaxy, the global virtual API conference taking place Feb. 2-4, 2021.

“The use of APIs has skyrocketed in 2020, and its momentum will continue in 2021 and beyond,” said Abhinav Asthana, co-founder and CEO of Postman. “Our goal with the Postman API Hack is to highlight the amazing things that become possible by harnessing the power of APIs, and to showcase developers’ work to our community of more than 13 million users and 500,000 organizations. We’re excited to see what participants will come up with, and how they will have an impact on the world.”

The Postman API Hack challenges developers to unleash the future of APIs by building creative hacks that are useful to other developers, demonstrate business value, and have broader community interest. The challenge is wide open, so developers can build with no bounds. Examples of creative and functional API workspaces include Stock Price Alerts, Slack Weather Bot and ShipEngine. The Postman API Hack features a total of $100,000 in prizes, including the $25,000 Intergalactic Grand Prize awarded to the team with the best project.
