The Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business and Management announced today a new Master of Science in Real Estate Investment and Finance (MSREIF) degree with classes beginning August 2017. The program will equip tomorrow's real estate analysts and senior executives with critical skills necessary to succeed in the areas of finance, accounting, law, economics, and decision sciences.

The Pepperdine Graziadio MSREIF—housed at the Pepperdine Malibu campus in the greater Los Angeles area—places students at the center of one of the fastest-growing real estate markets in the world. The full-time program can be completed in one-year (34-unit/three-trimester program), and is also part of the Fred Sands Institute of Real Estate at the Graziadio School, which is focused on enhancing training, research, and entrepreneurialism in the real estate industry.

"In the next decade, global financial trends will dramatically reshape real estate markets, disrupt historical business models, and create greater challenges for growth,” said Abraham Park, director of the Fred Sands Institute of Real Estate and associate professor of finance at the Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business and Management. “To successfully navigate these shifting economic, financial, and legal environments, real estate professionals need to equip themselves with broader and deeper market knowledge and sharper analytical and practical skills.”

MSREIF students will participate in the Education to Business (E2B) course at Pepperdine Graziadio, in which professors carefully select a curriculum-compatible project, pairing students with real-world executives to identify solutions to existing challenges in real time. In addition, students will have industry-related internship opportunities in order to gain valuable work experience, as well as international study projects to broaden their global perspective.

Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared for professional careers in an array of international and domestic areas, including commercial banking and residential lending, private equity investments and management, construction, real estate brokerage, hospitality and tourism, real estate technologies, and pension fund and portfolio management, among others.
