Gov. Doug Burgum, R-N.D., has vowed to support business owners across the state with his Main Street Initiative.

He and Lt. Gov. Brent Sanford, R-N.D., have toured the state to meet and chat with local merchants.
Sanford had his eye on Bottineau Wednesday, speaking with local officials and small business owners about the Main Street Initiative.

The Main Street Initiative puts a big emphasis on three pillars that fuel a small town: a skilled workforce, a healthy infrastructure, and a vibrant community.

Many comments from local residents had to do with employment of young people, online business and revitalizing old businesses.

Main Street North Dakota will also be a topic that Burgum will emphasize in his State of the State Address next week.

So whether you're revitalizing, maintaining or improving on any of these pillars in any of these towns, Main Street North Dakota remains a priority for Burgum, Sanford, and our state's economy.
