BioIQ, a health improvement technology company, today revealed the results of its fourth annual Wellness Trends survey. More than 1,000 HR professionals, health insurance brokers, and thought leaders participated in the survey during a recent BioIQ webinar: "Wellness Trends that will Impact Everyone in 2014."

BioIQ announced that 92 percent of respondents said their employees would benefit from better coordination between their wellness program and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) networks. Another result was that nearly 21 percent of those surveyed said they currently encourage their employees to engage with an Accountable Care Organization.

"Our research reveals a growing interest in the ACO model as a way to monitor and improve the health of a covered population," said Justin Bellante, CEO at BioIQ. "The employer market is looking to ACOs to deliver quality care for a reasonable cost, and ACOs are looking to BioIQ to engage patients and identify and measure risk factors related to diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and other chronic, preventable conditions."

Some of the nation's largest health plans, ACOs, and disease management companies have partnered with BioIQ to measure the health of their members and improve their compliance with health improvement programs. In addition, BioIQ helps employers roll out successful wellness programs, comply with federal regulations, and verify a return on wellness dollars invested.

BioIQ's 2014 Wellness Trends webinar, now available on demand, focuses on three timely topics:

  • The importance of Accountable Care Organizations and their link to Corporate Wellness programs
  • The impact of the Affordable Care Act on wellness and key wellness trends for 2014
  • Generating more wellness value from the changing healthcare system
