Managing director of the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company (IGEDC) said construction of gas pipelines has empowered the Iranian state and private sectors in such a way that the country is now ready to offer the related services in an international level. Hassan Montazer Torbati, said Iran and Iraq enjoy expanded cooperation in the gas sector as the latter is a customer of Iranian natural gas, adding Iran is offering extended services to its neighbor in construction of gas transmission pipelines, Iran's SHANA news agency reported. He said during the last visit to Iran, an Iraqi delegation learned Iran's achievements in the gas industry and held talks with senior officials of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) asking them to offer their experiences in the sector to Iraq. 'Iraq wants to acquire the savvy and knowhow practiced and developed by Iranian companies in the gas industry by building gas transmission networks,' he added. Iran has three main pipeline producers that supply the country's need for gas pipelines, he added, saying Iranians can also manufacture large turbo-compressors as well as many of the items and parts required in the industry.
