One day visit of the minister aimed at supporting the overall development of the Olomouc region.

Minister of Industry and Trade Martin Kuba met with entrepreneurs and representatives of the Olomouc region.

AT THE BEGINNING OF A NEW YEAR THE MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE MARTIN KUBA CONTINUES IN WORKING VISITS AROUND THE CZECH REGIONS. ON MONDAY, 7TH JANUARY HE VISITED THE OLOMOUC REGION. THE PROGRAM INVOLVED A TRADITIONAL MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF LOCAL BUSINESSES, EMPLOYEES OR REPRESENTATIVES OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS. ONE DAY VISIT OF THE MINISTER AIMED AT SUPPORTING THE OVERALL DEVELOPMENT OF THE OLOMOUC REGION.

The Monday's planned visit to Olomouc region started off in the ©umperk company Pramet Tools. It is a traditional Czech supplier of products for turning, milling, drilling and clamping. The Minister Kuba looked through the production facilities and operation of the company and was interested in the manufacturing process.

A visit of the Pøerov Meopta company, which is a global manufacturer specializing in optics, optical-mechanical and optical-electronic systems, carried itself in a similar vein.

"Companies, I visited, are on a very good level. I am glad that they do competitive businesses and thrive to break through even on foreign markets," said Mr Kuba to the address of both of these companies.

"Their common problem is the area of technical education, in other words, the lack of educated specialists in technical fields," named the Minister the painful area of the Czech industry.

In the afternoon, Mr Kuba had a meeting with businessmen from the Olomouc region. Representatives of the private sector were most interested in promoting exports by the state, as well as in the issue of a presented technical education support. There was also running a debate about the conditions and problems of doing business in the region.

In this context, the Minister Kuba familiarized businessmen with its plans for the support of Czech exports resulting from the export strategy. At the same time he reminded the current trend both in the Czech Republic and in the world consisting in enhancing the competitiveness, which must be the aim of all Czech companies.

Subsequently he introduced to the representatives of companies measures to promote technical education, which was developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Industry and Transport and the Ministry of Education, which the Minister Kuba is going to negotiate with the Minister of Finance.

It was followed by a late afternoon meeting with the mayors of local municipalities and representatives of the public administration of the Olomouc region. At the end of the day, Mr Kuba attended a meeting with local members of the ODS.

The Monday's visit of the Olomouc region was a further scheduled working visit of the Minister of Industry and Trade around the Czech Republic. Last year, for example, he visited Carlsbad, South Bohemia, Pilsen or Ústí nad Labem region. On Tuesday, the Minister is going to visit the Pardubice region.
