Ministry of Finance of Republic of Indonesia : President Targets Batang Toll Done by Eid 2017

Jakarta, 11/01/2016 MoF - Currently, land acquisition for Batang-Semarang toll development is almost completed. President Joko Widodo is grateful for this achievement and expects the project to be done soon. As former mayor of Solo, he considers that land acquisition was one of unsolved problem since 2016.

'Praise to the Lord, the Public Works Minister reported that today the land acquisition is 100% completed, followed by Kendal and Semarang by the end of February,' he said when visiting the site of Batang-Semarang toll development, Monday (09/01).

He targets the toll will be used by Eid. 'Once the land acquisition done, the construction can be accelerated with 2 or 3 shift. We hope it will be operated by Eid to reduce the traffic density in the northern coast line,' he affirmed. Beside land acquisition process, the bailout has also accelerated development process.

For information, by the end of 2016, total bailout collected of 32 Toll Road Agency stood IDR32.61 trillion. Some of the fund has been used to finance toll projects such as Trans-Java, Trans-Sumatera, Jabodetabek, and other development in Indonesia. The President also signed Presidential Regulation Number 102 of 2016 regarding Funding for Land Procurement for Public Interest Development in the Context of National Strategic Project Implementation.(as/rsa)
