Banda Aceh, 05/01/2017 MoF - Today (05/01), Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati gave a public lecture themed 'The Role of Fiscal in Building Inclusive Economy' at the Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) Banda Aceh.

The minister reiterated that the government always seeks to manage state finances responsibly. State Budget (APBN), she continued, is very important instrument of fiscal policy in the economy of a country. 'We have to see how the instrument could support our policy (in the) state,' she said.

Achieving an equitable and prosperous society represents the ideals of the Founding Fathers, added the minister. To realize the goals, there are three important issues that must be resolved, namely poverty, inequality and the ability to improve productivity and competitiveness.

To answer these challenges, the government is designing policies that can create sound economic growth. 'Not only focusing on growth, but also must be able to create job opportunities, reduce inequality and poverty,' she said.(hi/nv)
