Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance of Is : Iran, China to expand relations

Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance says that Iran and China will expand their economic relations in the post-sanctions era.

(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- Mohammad Khazaei Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance emphasized the will of Tehran and Beijing for the development of bilateral relations, said: In the think tank meeting between the two countries attended by senior Chinese officials, the issue of the Silk Road project was discussed and constructive negotiations were conducted in this regard.
He added that in the trip 18 cooperation documents were signed between the two countries, stated: In the post-sanctions era, all the opportunities should be used for further expansion of relations between Iran and China.
The president of the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran further said that the importance of these relations is beyond a simple bilateral economic relationship and noted: Silk Road project, 'One Belt, One Road' that has been proposed by the Chinese government, covers 65 countries and Iran is defined as one of the most pivotal countries in this road.
He pointed to the important economic and political role of China in the world and the region, said: The establishment of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, of which Iran is a founding member, was China's initiatives that can serve as a reliable source for external financing of our country.
Effective and constructive engagement of our country in regional and global interactions as an economic and political power has doubled Beijing's motivation to build strategic relationships with us; therefore, the Chinese President's visit to Iran in the current situation is of particular importance, Khazaei noted.
