Ships of the Northern Fleet will continue providing presence of the Russia Navy in the global ocean in 2017.
Aircraft carrying ship grouping, which includes the Admiral of the Soviet Union Fleet Kuznetsov heavy aircraft carrier, Pyotr Velikiy heavy missile cruiser, Severomorsk major anti-submarine ship, is performing assigned tasks in the eastern areas of the Mediterranean.
Crews of warships started preparing for long-range sorties in seas of the Arctic Ocean, different areas of the Atlantic Ocean as well as the Mediterranean.
In 2016, crews of ships, submarines and auxiliary vessels carried out more than 30 long-range sorties.
