MALAYSIA AIRPORTS SIGNS MOU WITH VADS LYFE FOR SMART SERVICES DEPLOYMENT IN KLIA AEROPOLIS

KUALA LUMPUR- Recognising the increasing need for enhanced telecommunication services as well as Smart Services, Malaysia Airport (Sepang) Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia Airport Holding Berhad (Malaysia Airports) and VADS Lyfe Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of integrated telecommunications, ICT and smart services for the KLIA Aeropolis development projects spearheaded by Malaysia Airports.

The MoU was signed by Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM and Akram Mackeen, Chief Operations Officer, VADS Lyfe Sdn Bhd while Malaysia Airports was represented by Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, Managing Director and Randhill Singh, General Manager, Corporate Planning.

With the MoU in place, TM and Malaysia Airports will be working closely in strengthening the existing telecommunication and ICT infrastructure at KLIA Aeropolis. At the same time, both parties will explore ways to incorporate smart services through the provisioning of Internet of Things (IoT) enabled smart services. This is envisioned to transform KLIA Aeropolis into a world-class airport city and a tourist destination in itself. The success of KLIA Aeropolis will strengthen Malaysia Airports' position as a key economic enabler for the country by contributing significantly to national GDP and job creation.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Tan Sri Zamzamzairani said: 'We are indeed very excited to be part of this milestone development project for our country. Under this collaboratioon, VADS Lyfe will be working hand-in-hand with Malaysia Airportsto offer multiple smart services and as well as integrated telecommunication and ICT solutions for the KLIA Aeropolis development. The collaboration will also enable us to promote Smart City Living through the provisioning of smart solutions which encompasses but not limited to Smart Safety & Security, Smart Mobility, Smart Building Management as well as Tenant and Citizen Services, in line with our vision, 'To Make Life and Business Easier, For a Better Malaysia.'

Meanwhile, Datuk Badlisham said, 'As a responsible corporate citizen, Malaysia Airports wishes to ensure that KLIA Aeropolis is a sustainable development. This partnership with VADS Lyfe will allow us to offer the population of our airport city efficiency and optimisation, while at the same time curbing energy depletion.'

Besides the development of smart services, both parties will explore on jointly developing marketing programmes and innovative ICT enablers, leveraging on TM's expertise towards realising the vision of KLIA Aeropolis development.
