MILAN, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Italian law firm PedersoliGattai, created from the merger of two Milanese legal firms, started operations on Jan. 1 with more than 350 lawyers, including 63 partners, it said on Monday.

Carlo Pedersoli has been appointed chairman and Bruno Gattai was named managing partner. Both will sit on the executive committee together with deputy managing partners Cacchi Pessani and Carlo Re.

Last July, law firms Pedersoli and Gattai, Minoli, Partners announced their decision to merge, adding that a third group of lawyers led by Carlo Montagna and Stefano Cacchi Pessani would join the new firm.

With offices in Milan, Rome and Turin, PedersoliGattai will assist businesses in mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, and high-profile litigation, it said. (Reporting by Valentina Za, editing by Susan Fenton)
