The Fallon Company today announced that it has finalized an agreement with Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP on a 10-year commercial lease at Boston's Fan Pier, a joint venture of The Fallon Company, MassMutual and Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers, which is one of the country's largest mixed-use development sites, spanning 21 acres and nine city blocks.

Gunderson Dettmer, a leading global business law firm representing emerging growth companies and venture capital firms, will relocate its current Waltham, Massachusetts offices to more than 27,000 square feet of space on the ninth floor of Fan Pier's One Marina Park Drive office tower by September 2014.

The firm joins several other prominent Massachusetts companies who have announced plans to move from their suburban locations to Fan Pier, including Gunderson Dettmer clients Battery Ventures and Polaris Partners - two internationally renowned venture capital firms, which, earlier this year, revealed plans to occupy 28,000 and 16,000 square feet, respectively, at One Marina Park Drive. They will join EnerNOC, Fish & Richardson and The Fallon Company as tenants in the building, which is at more than 90 percent occupancy.

"With its unique location, ease of transport and vibrant, 24-hour neighborhood environment, Boston's waterfront continues to attract marquee companies, furthering its position as Boston's premier cultural and commercial epicenter," said Joe Fallon, President and CEO of The Fallon Company. "And as a leading business law firm for entrepreneurs, emerging growth companies and venture capitalists, Gunderson has vitality, energy and enthusiasm in its DNA, which is a perfect fit for the character being established at Fan Pier."

Gunderson Dettmer was founded in 1995 and has more than 170 attorneys working in the world's innovation epicenters: Silicon Valley, Beijing, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego and San Francisco, in addition to Boston.

"Fan Pier is at the center of the Boston ecosystem that fosters innovation in technology and the life sciences," said Jay Hachigian, a founding partner at Gunderson Dettmer. "Moving to the heart of the Innovation District aligns with the founding principles of our firm, and we are delighted to be joining such an exciting environment."

When complete, Fan Pier will feature a total of eight contemporary commercial and residential luxury high rises; the best in dining, shopping and recreation; and access to Fan Pier's world-class, six-acre marina in one of Boston's most thriving urban communities, offset by green space and the waterfront. The location is also highlighted by convenient access to public transportation, including South Station, a water taxi to Boston's Logan Airport and the Financial District, Hubway bikes onsite and easy access to several interstate highways.

In addition to One Marina Park Drive, Fan Pier currently features two commercial towers that will house the global headquarters of Vertex Pharmaceuticals beginning in 2014 - Fifty Northern Avenue and Eleven Fan Pier Boulevard. The Fallon Company recently broke ground on its first residential building, Twenty Two Liberty, a 14-story condominium tower, which will offer the best of luxury living in one of the city's most dynamic urban neighborhoods. The generously-sized condominiums will come in several configurations, from studio pied-à-terres to 3+ bedroom homes, with high-end details and an array of luxurious amenities designed to surpass even the most refined expectations, including 270-degree vistas of Boston's cityscape and Boston's inner and outer Harbor.

Earlier this year, the Fallon Company announced plans for 100-104 Northern Avenue - a 17-story, 516,000 square foot commercial tower featuring 18,000 square feet for prime, ground-floor retail opportunities. The Fallon Company plans to break ground on the building in 2014.
