OAKLAND, Calif., Jan. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Inner City Advisors (ICA) today announced that it has named Sean Daniel Murphy as its new Chief Executive Officer following a nationwide search. Additionally, ICA announced it has formally combined operations with its partner organization, Fund Good Jobs. Murphy will lead both ICA and Fund Good Jobs under a single Board of Directors and operating structure.

"Sean's selection as CEO is a testament to his outstanding leadership capabilities and passion for our mission," said Jack Russi, Co-Chairman of the newly recombined ICA and Fund Good Jobs. "In conjunction with the combination of ICA and Fund Good Jobs, we are extremely well positioned to accelerate our future impact."

Murphy became Interim CEO of ICA following the departure of Jose Corona in July 2015. Murphy first engaged with ICA as a volunteer in 2006. In 2009, he became the Portfolio Manager at ICA, and was subsequently promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Murphy left ICA in 2013 to launch Fund Good Jobs, currently a $2.35 Million fund that has invested in five local businesses and created nearly 150 jobs.

In tandem with the leadership transition at ICA, Murphy and the Boards of ICA and Fund Good Jobs decided to combine the two organizations as one enterprise with a common mission: creating good jobs. A consolidated ICA and Fund Good Jobs will achieve greater impact through increased fundraising ability, enhanced branding and visibility, consolidated governance and a leaner operating structure.

"Sean has been an architect of programs and operations at both ICA and Fund Good Jobs," said Jim Harris, Co-Chairman of ICA and Fund Good Jobs. "The respective missions of ICA and Fund Good Jobs are inextricably linked. It is the right time to bring these organizations together and Sean is the ideal person to lead it."

"It's with great humility and enthusiasm that I've accepted the responsibility to lead this work forward," Murphy said. "As we embark on ICA's 20(th) year of operations, I know we are well positioned to maximize our impact at this moment in time. Our commitment to constant learning and innovation helps us deliver services that truly get results; including entrepreneurship education, advisory-based business acceleration and tailored growth capital. 2016 will be a monumental year for our mission."

ICA was assisted in its search by The 360 Group.
