Guardian Pharmacy Services, one of the nation’s largest long-term care (LTC) pharmacy companies, and Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri are pleased to announce the opening of a new location in St. Louis. This new location allows Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri to expand their footprint to serve assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care and independent living communities across Eastern Missouri.

Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri currently serves thousands of LTC residents across the state from its Springfield location. In 2019, Guardian Missouri’s St. Louis location has already expanded the company’s customer base, adding 12 new communities and more than 1,000 residents. In addition, seven new employees have joined the team, and the pharmacy plans to hire additional staff through 2019.

The 6,500 square-foot St. Louis facility will house new technology/automation and an education center to provide in-service and nursing instruction courses for pharmacy employees as well as community staff members.

“We are excited about our expansion and future opportunities with this new location in a rapidly changing LTC environment,” said Michael Counts, president of Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri’s Springfield and St. Louis location. “Our organization has grown, but our formula for success stays the same – improve resident outcomes through superior products and services, excellent customer service, ongoing training and innovative technology to enhance operations of the communities we serve.”

Angel Mayberry, director of sales, and Dawn Carey, pharmacist-in-charge, will oversee direct operations at the new St. Louis location.

“We have worked hard to earn our reputation as a company that provides exceptional customer care, and we are proud to have this opportunity to grow,” said Angel Mayberry. “With this new location, Guardian Pharmacy of Missouri can double its commitment, providing services to communities in need throughout the entire Missouri market.”

“Michael and his team have been excellent partners since 2016, and we are exceptionally pleased with the progress they have made in such a short time,” said Fred Burke, CEO and co-founder of Guardian Pharmacy Services. “With this new St. Louis location, we are confident they will continue to experience tremendous success and ensure residents in LTC communities across Missouri are well served.”

Founded in 2004, Guardian Pharmacy Services’ 36 locations now serve more than 110,000 residents throughout 23 states. For more information, visit guardianpharmacy.net.
