EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Jan 14, 2014) - At Edmonton Economic Development's sold out Impact Luncheon today, president and CEO Brad Ferguson spoke about the agency's progress over the past year and reiterated the organization's commitment to the vision of Edmonton as Canada's economic and entrepreneurial powerhouse.

Edmonton Economic Development is maintaining focus on its vision and objective, first outlined last year, to ensure that the Edmonton Region outperforms every major economic jurisdiction in North America consistently over the next 20 years.

"This is a new Edmonton, with a new confidence and a new energy," says Ferguson. "The only way forward is to embrace the mantra of: cleaner, greener, safer, faster, cheaper. We need to build our industries and build our entrepreneurs, and activate the country in doing so."

Edmonton's Mayor Don Iveson joined Ferguson for a discussion around Edmonton, its renewed vibrancy, and its future, and both answered questions from Edmonton's business community.
