Lance Izumi, senior director of the Center for Education and Koret Senior Fellow in Education Studies, will share his policy ideas about expanding school choice at the federal, state, and local level at a lunch beginning at noon on Friday, Jan. 26 at the Capitol Events Center in Sacramento.

California policymakers, capitol staff, third house members, and area education reform leaders are expected to attend the event, titled “What Can California Do to Expand School Choice.”

Lunch is free and attendees will receive a copy of Izumi’s book, An American Education Agenda.

This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2018, which will feature more than 32,000 school choice events across all 50 states.

“One of the most important ways we can ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed is through expanded school choice,” Izumi said. “As I outline in my new book, there are many opportunities for federal, state and local policymakers to give students and parents more educational choices – whether through new or expanded school choice tax credits, repealing bad laws, or education leaders using the bully pulpit to promote choice. I’m pleased to have the opportunity to present these and other ways that California can expand school choice at our Sacramento event.”

The Capitol Events Center is located at 1020 11th St. in Sacramento.

Space is limited. For more information or to RSVP, contact Tim Anaya at tanaya@pacificresearch.org or (916) 389-9774.
