EFTA - European Free Trade Association : Highlights from the Subcommittees I-IV meeting and the Joint Subcommittees I-IV meeting on 22 January 2013

The Subcommittees met on 22 January 2013 with the European External Action Service (EEAS) and discussed the state of play of acts being considered for incorporation into the EEA Agreement, parliamentary procedures for adopted EEA Joint Committee Decisions and a number of draft EEA Joint Committee Decisions currently under discussion with the EU. An EEA EFTA Comment on the proposal of the European Parliament and of the Council on periodic roadworthiness tests for motor vehicles and their trailers submitted to the EU side on 18 December 2012 was noted.

The internal meeting the Subcommittees I-IV started already on 21 January with a special session on outstanding acts. Other issues discussed at the internal meeting were e.g. the Multiannual Financial Framework, accession of Croatia to the EU and the Commission roadmap for reform of agencies.

The next meetings of Subcommittees I-IV and Joint Subcommittees I-IV are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 5 March 2013 in Brussels.
