We are immensely proud of their achievements and I assure them of the Government's determination to provide the supports necessary to assist them in building their exports and creating the jobs we need at home".

Minister Bruton added: "More exports means more jobs in Ireland and at the heart of our Action Plan for Jobs is driving the creation of a powerful engine of exporting Irish businesses. That is why we have put in place measures like doubling the number of trade missions and providing new supports for exporting Irish companies. The announcements of ¤25million worth of contracts by nine companies during the first three days of this major trade mission shows the huge opportunities that exist in these exciting markets, and represents a major achievement for these companies. I congratulate them on their success and look forward to further results over the coming two days".

Julie Sinnamon, CEO Enterprise Ireland, who is accompanying the Taoiseach and Minister Bruton, added: "The activity and success across a wide range of sectors demonstrates the opportunities that exist in the Gulf for Irish companies with high quality and innovative solutions.
