ad:tech New York 2015, the event for modern marketing and media, announced today the opening conference keynote session featuring comedian, actor and podcaster Marc Maron. Titled “WTF! A Keynote with Marc Maron,” with Maron drawing from his experiences as a well-recognized podcaster. Podcasts are experiencing a new resurgence thanks in part to WTF? with Marc Maron when it landed an interview with Barack Obama.

“Aside from being a legendary stand-up comedian with a top TV series on IFC, Maron is one of the most tech-savvy figures in his field today,” said Kimberly Dunn, marketing director for ad:tech. “Attendees are sure to be educated and entertained during this session on one of the fastest growing consumer digital mediums.”

For over twenty years, Marc Maron has been writing and performing thought-provoking comedy for online, print, radio, television and stage. A legend in the stand-up community, Maron has appeared on every major televised comedy outlet from HBO to Comedy Central; he’s been on Conan O’Brien more than any other comedian. In 2012, Maron was included in TIME Magazine’s 100 short list of the Most Influential People and was nominated for two Comedy Central 2012 Comedy Awards: Best Comedy Podcast and Best Comedy App.

Maron’s podcast, WTF with Marc Maron premiered in September 2009 and has since featured compelling monologues and interviews with iconic personalities such as Louis CK, Robin Williams, Anthony Bourdain, Judd Apatow and Ben Stiller. It has become a worldwide phenomenon averaging five million downloads each month and has been called a “must-listen” by Vanity Fair and The New York Times, among many others. Select episodes began airing on public radio stations across the U.S. in June 2010.
