(Reuters) - China's net gold imports via Hong Kong in April dropped about 38% from the previous month, Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department data showed on Monday.

Net imports into the world's top gold consumer stood at 34.575 metric tons in April, compared with 55.836 tons in March, the data showed.

Total gold imports via Hong Kong were down about 32% at 43.261 tons.
