BEIJING, Jan 15 (Reuters) - China appreciates and welcomes the Nauru government's decision to severe diplomatic ties with Taiwan, China's foreign ministry said on Monday.

China is willing to open a new chapter in bilateral relations with Nauru on the basis of its one-China principle, the ministry said in a statement. (Reporting by Beijing newsroom; Editing by Tom Hogue)
