HIGHWAY 1 PAVING BETWEEN CAYUCOS AND HARMONY BEGINS NEXT WEEK

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY - A project to resurface the highway and reconstruct the ramps and shoulders of Highway 1 from south of 13th Street in Cayucos to Harmony Valley Road will begin on Monday, April 1, weather permitting.

Motorists will encounter alternating lane closures on Highway 1 Monday through Thursday from 6 am until 4 pm and on Fridays from 6 am until 2 pm. Construction will also take place during the overnight hours Sunday night through Friday morning from 8 pm until 6 am. Delays are expected to be minimal.

There will also be 24-hour ramp closures at the Old Creek Overcrossing (13 Street) and the C Street Undercrossing (Cayucos Drive) for not more than 14 consecutive days. No two consecutive ramps will be closed in a row.

Electronic message boards will inform the public about this roadwork. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will ensure a safe environment for everyone. Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 15 minutes.

The contractor for this $9.8 million project is CalPortland Construction of Santa Maria, CA. This project is expected to be complete this November.
