"I and others are of course saddened that Dr. Breuder will be leaving the College next year," said COD Board Chair Erin Birt. "His list of accomplishments is staggering. COD will benefit from his foresight and guidance for generations to come. We are pleased to have come to an agreement that best serves the College while recognizing the incredible leadership Dr. Breuder has shown."

"This has been a president with vision," said Trustee Dianne McGuire. "He knows how to execute and deliver. He has raised the profile of the College in such a way that it is becoming the option of choice for higher education in the entire metro area."

"Dr. Breuder has been a peerless leader who has transformed COD into one of the nation's finest community colleges," said Trustee Allison O'Donnell. "He will leave us with a host of cutting-edge academic programs, stunning teaching and learning facilities, and a significantly enhanced financial position."

"As I have heard from presidents and trustees around the state of Illinois, it is a rare leader who can envision and create the campus we now have at College of DuPage," said Trustee Nancy Svoboda. "Dr. Breuder's vision extends to the academic realm as he spearheads the effort for Illinois community colleges to offer technical baccalaureate degrees. The community college system of Illinois has much to appreciate from Dr. Breuder's leadership."

"While Dr. Breuder's style has on occasion sparked controversy, he is a change agent whose vision has been on target. Since he first introduced the concept of granting baccalaureate degrees, 22 states in the nation have implemented these programs," said Trustee Kim Savage. "College of DuPage is well positioned under his leadership to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education."

"I will miss Dr. Breuder," Trustee Joe Wozniak said. "I wish he were staying. Under his leadership, we have become a stronger institution that is better able to serve our district. He is the best thing to happen to COD in a long time."
