An ecosystem service is the contribution of ecosystems to the economic production and consumption by society. One of the purposes of SEEA experimental ecosystem accounting (SEEA EEA) is to provide sound statistical information on the economic value of ecosystem services and assets and present them in an accounting framework. The monetary supply and use account and the ecosystem asset account presented in this report measure the flow of services from ecosystems to society, using the framework developed by the UN, the SEEA EEA.

In this study we have estimated the value of ten ecosystem services, including provisioning, regulating and cultural services. The results are spatially explicit and presented per province and on national scale. The project was carried out in collaboration with Wageningen University on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. This report is part of the Natural Capital Accounts of the Netherlands. The report and technical annex are in English, the short summary is in Dutch.
