Dato' Sri Ibrahim joined the Sarawak Constabulary as Constable in 1964 and was

promoted to the rank of Inspector in 1966. He rose through the gazatte rank to

full superintendent before his retirement as Divisional Superintendent in 1998.

During his service in the Royal Malaysia Police, he had served as Staff Officer

Narcotic, Criminal Investigation Department at the Headquarters, Sawarak and

Officer in Charge of Police District.  He was also seconded to the

Anti-Corruption Agency, Kuching as Senior Investigation Officer.
