2015 marks the 30th Anniversary of Access Sciences Corporation, a professional services and technology firm operating globally out of its Houston, Texas headquarters. The company plans to kick-off this milestone with an anniversary celebration on January 29th, when employee-owners will welcome clients, friends, and industry partners at the Hotel Derek in Houston.
Access Sciences was founded in 1985 by Janice C. Anderson as Access Information Associates. Anderson’s value proposition was rooted in a conviction that organizations and people could perform better when they were able to gain easy access to the information they needed to make smart decisions. The company changed names to Access Sciences Corporation in 2003, and throughout its existence has served as a beacon for industry-best practices and pragmatic, scalable solutions for clients.
“Access Sciences has experienced sustainable growth as we have led the industry with innovative technology and proven methods for delivering services,” Anne Tülek, President and CEO, stated. In just the past five years, Access Sciences has served more than 100 client organizations in over 20 industries in 47 countries on six continents.
After 30 years at the helm, Access Sciences founder, Janice C. Anderson, has announced her retirement effective December 31, 2014. “[Janice’s] personal standards of excellence and customer service underpin the culture at Access Sciences today,” Tülek shared. In recent years, Access Sciences has transitioned to an employee-owned company (ESOP), allowing for a smooth transition for Anderson to gradually step away from the day-to-day business activities and move into retirement. Anderson will retain her position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Access Sciences.
