Dr. Jackson is a scientist, entrepreneur, and angel investor specializing in the commercialization of new technologies.
Formerly President and CEO of the Brown University Research Foundation which manages the intellectual property of Brown University, he has been involved in founding over a dozen for-profit companies, three as founding CEO.
Dr. Jackson was also the founder of the Brown Venture Forum which has been bringing entrepreneurs and investors together for twenty years, and founder and Chairman of the Slater Center for Interactive Technologies and a co-founder and director of the Slater Center for Biomedical Technology, two Rhode Island state-supported business development organizations that make grants, loans and equity investments in emerging companies.
Earlier, he was the founding CEO of RepliGen (RGEN) the first biotechnology company to receive a license to conduct recombinant DNA experiments in the City of Cambridge.
He also served as a business development executive with Corning.
Dr. Jackson holds a Sc.B.
degree from Brown University and a Ph.D.
from UMass Amherst.
