Mr. Goodwyn is a principal of Goodwyn, Long & Black Investment Management, Inc. He was formerly a founder/owner, officer and director of Potomac Asset Management, Inc. a registered investment advisory firm that was sold in 1995.
His areas of financial expertise, over the past thirty years, have included management of stock and bond portfolios, both taxable and tax-exempt for individual and institutional clients.
Mr. Goodwyn’s focus has been risk management suitable for diverse client profiles to enhance wealth and build estates using tax-saving methods.
He also serves as trustee of a number of family trust and estates.
After earning his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University, Mr. Goodwyn worked with Ferris Baker Watts, a Washington D.C.
brokerage firm, before becoming a Registered Investment Advisor.
His community involvement includes serving as board chairman for the Columbia Hospital for Women.
He also served as chairman of the Finance Committee on the Board of Blue Shield of the National Capital Area, member of the Endowment Committee of the Landon School and chairman of the Chevy Chase Country Club Pension Committee.
