The firm was founded in 2008 by Hyeon-Joo Park.They are a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mirae Asset Global Investments (USA) Inc., which in turn is a majority-owned subsidiary of Mirae Asset Global Investments Co. Ltd., a Korea-based investment advisor that was established in 1997. Mirae Asset USA provides investment advice to individuals, investment companies, pooled investment vehicles, registered investment advisers, non-US registered funds, pension and profit-sharing plans, trusts, estates, or charitable organizations and other institutional investors.
