Ms. Sonia Chatigny, CFA, is a Portfolio Manager at Manulife Investment Management Ltd.
She is responsible for the portfolio management of liability-driven investments including goals-based investment solutions and fixed-income index mandates in Canada.
She leads the investment decision-making and portfolio construction process, collaborates with financial engineering and quantitative research professionals on investment ideas and research, and works jointly with investment strategists to elaborate solutions for our clients and prospects.
In addition, she is also part of the portfolio management team responsible for the development and management of a suite of active fixed income exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Ms. Chatigny joined the firm when Standard Life's Canadian operations were acquired by Manulife in January 2015.
She’s been a member of the quantitative management team since joining Standard Life Investments (SLI) in 1998 as a specialist, quantitative management.
In 2001, she was promoted to the position of vice president, quantitative portfolio management and trading.
Before joining SLI, she was a fixed-income analyst at Les Conseillers financiers du St-Laurent.
She received her undergraduate degree and a graduate degree from Université Laval.
She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
