Serge Ramin

Mr. Serge Ramin is Head of Research at CQS (UK) LLP.
He is responsible for fundamental company research to support all CQS Funds’ trading and investment strategies, managing a team of sector specialists based in London and Hong Kong.
He is also a member of the CQS Executive Committee.
Mr. Ramin has significant experience in credit research, investment, corporate lending and investment banking, gathered over 20 years of professional experience in the financial services industry in London, Zurich, New York City and Paris.
Prior to joining CQS in 2004, he was Founding Partner of Nyras Capital LLP, an investment and corporate finance advisory firm, targeting opportunities in the transportation sector.
Before this, Mr. Ramin was a Managing Director at Bear Stearns, responsible for leveraged finance origination in Europe and focusing on the Telecommunications, Media and Technology sectors and financial sponsors.
Prior to Bear Stearns, he was a senior originator in European Leveraged Finance, as an Executive Director for West LB and a Director at UBS, originating and structuring leveraged loans and making mezzanine and equity investments.
He started his banking career in commercial lending with Citibank in Paris in the Corporate Finance Group.
Mr. Ramin holds a degree in Business & Accounting from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris where he graduated in 1986 and an MBA in Finance and Management from Wharton School of Management, received in 1990.
He is a native French speaker and also speaks fluent German.
