The Gibraltar Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (Gibraltar Life) is the Japanese life insurance subsidiary of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE: PRU) in the US. Formerly known as Kyoei Life Insurance Co Ltd., the firm was established in 1935 and changed their name to The Gibraltar Life Insurance Company Ltd. in 2001. Gibraltar Life is headquartered in Tokyo and specializes in life insurance products for Japanese consumers. They offer a range of financial products which they distribute through a sales force of 'Life Advisors' who target customers through affinity groups. They also offer fixed annuities (in both US dollars and Japanese Yen) through partnered banks and through their Life Advisors.
