Satoru Kumagai is Executive Managing Director of LGT Capital Partners (Japan) Co., Ltd.
Mr. Kumagai joined the firm in 2003 in order to develop alternative asset management business for Japanese institutional investors and pension funds.
LGT Capital Partners is the largest alternative house in Europe and one arm of LGT group owned by Liechtenstein Princely Family.
After Keio University graduation, Mr. Kumagai joined Nomura Securities in 1988 and LGT Investment Management Co., Ltd.
in Japan in 1994 and left the company in 1997 after successful result of retail/institutional mutual fund business.
He joined Jardine Fleming Investment Management (current JP Morgan Asset Management) as the head of mutual fund marketing.
Prior to joining LGT Capital Partners (Japan) Co., Ltd., Mr. Kumagai was head of the representative office of T.Rowe Price Global Asset Management in Japan and senior vice president of T.Rowe Price.
His main role was to manage the strategic alliance business with Jardine Fleming, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Daiwa House Group.
