Mohammad Javad Zarif Khonsari served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Government of Iran from 2013 to 2021.
Prior to this, he was the Ambassador-United Nations from 2002 to 2007 and the Deputy Minister-Foreign Affairs from 1992 to 2002.
He also served as a Member of the Iranian Delegation to the United Nations and as Vice President of Islamic Azad University.
Zarif Khonsari received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from San Francisco State University in 1982 and his graduate and doctorate degrees from the University of Denver in 1984 and 1988, respectively.
