Mr. Caron is the founder of MobileSpring Wireless, a New York-based wireless software developer funded by i-Hatch.
He is one of the founders of Omnipoint Communications and has over 15 years experience in telecommunications and information technology.
Mr. Caron led the business development and marketing areas from Omnipoint's pre-venture capital start-up stage, through its $1Bn IPO, to its recent sale to VoiceStream Wireless for over $6Bn as part of a national roll-up of regional PCS companies.
In his most recent business development role, he concluded over $300MM worth of acquisitions and joint ventures and led Omnipoint Communications' efforts in selling the parent company.
Earlier marketing responsibilities included creating the original marketing plan, building the 30-person marketing and product management department, and launching Omnipoint in the New York market.
Prior to Omnipoint, Mr. Caron consulted to PictureTel Corporation, assisting them with their operations, marketing and technology strategy.
In 1989, he entered the wireless industry working as a Product Manager at Ericsson Mobile Communications.
He started his career at General Electric working in information systems and telecommunications.
He has an MBA from Harvard and a BA in Computer Science and Economics from Dartmouth College.
