Mr. Joshua Mintz is Vice President & General Counsel at John D.
& Catherine T.
MacArthur Foundation.
He joined the firm in 1994.
Prior to joining the Foundation, he was a partner with the law firm of Sidley Austin LLP, specializing in commercial litigation and business reorganization, including real estate restructurings.
He serves as a member of the Ethics and Practices Committee of the Council on Foundations and the Public Policy Committee of Independent Sector.
He is also the co-Chair of the United States International Grantmaking (USIG) Project, a project convened by the Council on Foundations, and serves as a member of the USIG Treasury Guidelines Working Group.
Mr. Mintz is the President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Juvenile Protective Association, a not-for-profit organization providing counseling and other services to children at risk and their families, after having previously served for several years as a member of the Board, a Vice-President and a member of the Finance Committee.
Mr. Joshua Mintz received his JD from the University of Miami School of Law, magna cum laude, in 1981.
He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in history/education from the University of Colorado.
