Jonathan Thornton

Jon joined Gartmore in February 2002 as Head of UK Equities.
Jon is an experienced and highly respected investment professional who has been involved in the fund management industry for almost 20 years.
He has a long and successful fund management track record covering a broad range of clients.
Jon has a breadth of experience covering both institutional and retail markets managing top performing life funds, growth funds and income funds.
Jon began his investment career in 1982 at Imperial Life of Canada (latterly Laurentian Group), joining Prolific in March 1988 and becoming Head of UK Equities in 1993.
After the merger of Prolific and Aberdeen, Jon took over responsibility for all mainstream UK Equities within the combined group.
In July 1999, Jon was awarded Joint Fund Manager of the Year in the UK Growth category.
Jon obtained a first class Honours degree in Business Studies at South Bank University.
