Mr. Haddon joined Darby Overseas Investment in April 2007.
Previously, he worked for six years at the DC offices of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he represented lenders, borrowers, guarantors and insurers in complex, cross-border financing transactions.
He has experience with the Washington-based emerging market finance agencies, including the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the International Finance Corporation, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
Before joining Orrick, he served for seven years as OPIC's Associate General Counsel for Investments, where he was responsible for the legal aspects of OPIC's participation in a group of emerging market private equity funds with more than $3 billion of committed capital.
Before joining OPIC in 1994, he practiced with the New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton, where he represented clients in a wide range of complex financing transactions, including leveraged buyout, leveraged lease, project finance, and receivables-backed loans, and on capital markets transactions and joint ventures.
Mr. Haddon received his law degree from Boston University School of Law in 1984 and a BA, Economics (magna cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980.
He is a member of the New York and Washington, DC bar.
