John-Bernard Duler

Prior to joining Cross Current Research, Mr. Duler is the founder of Duler & Co., an insurance brokerage and risk management firm based in the San Francisco Bay area.
Prior to Duler & Co, John-Bernard founded Esurance, a direct automobile insurance company.
He served as Chairman and CEO until he sold Esurance to White Mountains, and remained a director until January 2002.
From 1988 to 1998 Mr. Duler was an executive with CIGNA Worldwide.
In 1994 he launched the West Coast operations for CIGNA and served as its Vice President and General Manager until 1998, overseeing the Western Region.
Prior to arriving on the West coast, he led worldwide marketing, sales, and business development for CIGNA's Global Risk Management, from the company's headquarters in Philadelphia, PA.
Before joining CIGNA, Mr. Duler worked for FM Global, an insurance and risk management firm.
He also served as an executive with AXA in Europe, one of the world's largest financial services company, in a variety of underwriting and actuarial roles.
Prior to his association with Cross Current, John-Bernard served as a senior adviser to Gerson Lehrman Group.
