Mr. Quillin is a graduate of the U.S.
Military Academy (B.S., 1973) and served with the Army (in the 82d Airborne Division, as well as in Germany) prior to attending law school.
He received his law degree in 1984 from the University of South Carolina, where he took American Jurisprudence Awards (top honors in his class) in fiduciary administration, property, and trusts & estates.
Mr. Quillin was a member and then team captain of the University of South Carolina College of Law National Moot Court Team (1983-1984).
Following law school, Mr. Quillin was selected for a two-term federal judicial clerkship, serving the Honorable Jean Galloway Bissell, Circuit Judge, U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (1984-1986).
For most of the 1990s, Mr. Quillin was an adjunct professor at the George Mason University Law School, teaching patent prosecution.
