Dr. Cochran's background is in optical physics with expertise in optical metrology and the design of optical instrumentation.
He has had experience in industry in a variety of engineering firms.
His biomedical area of focus at RCT is medical devices, reviewing cardiac, spine and GI-related technologies.
He also manages the Tissue Harmonic Imaging and Blue Noise Mask licensing programs as well as having managed several optical, electrical and bioengineering technologies.
Dr. Cochran joined RCT in 1999.
Since 2002 Dr. Cochran has served as the Adjunct Professor of Optical Sciences with the University of Arizona, and since 2003 has served as an Adviser for the Arizona Center of Innovation.
From 1986-1991, Dr. Cochran was a Senior Optical Engineer with WYKO Corporation.
In 1985, Dr. Cochran served on the technical Staff for GCA/Tropel Corp.
From 1983-1984, Dr. Cochran was an Optical Engineer for Perkin-Elmer Corp.
Dr. Cochran received his MS in 1987, his PhD in 1988, and his MBA in 1992 from the University of Arizona.
He received his BS from the University of Rochester in 1983.
In 2007, Dr. Cochran received his Associates in Science, his Associates in Liberal Arts, his AGEC-S, and his Technical Certificate from Prima Community College.
