Mr. Declan O'Brien is Chief Executive Officer at Barak Fund Management Ltd.
Prior to joining the Barak Fund he was the CEO of Royal Eagle Investments, an International Management Consulting Business focused on servicing the Global Investment community with a particular weighing to Africa.
Within that capacity he also held the role of Global Head of Business Development for a leading African alternative Investment Management Company, Skybound Capital.
He has over 17 years financial markets experience and started his career with Fleming Martin in the Equity Trading division in South Africa.
Thereafter he went on to run their regional Institutional Securities business after the Company emerged into JPM Chase & Co. He has also held strategic roles at both HSBC AM where he was Head of Trading and BNP Paribas Cadiz Securities where he was Head of Equity Finance and Sales.
He was instrumental in building New World Trader into the World’s largest CFD business and selling it on to Purple Capital a listed JSE company in 2007.
Mr. O'Brien is a founder member of the South African AIMA Charter.
