Dr. Mewha is a graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Miami School of Medicine.
Prior to Galleon, she attended the University of Florida as a National Merit Scholar and went on to become the captain of the equestrian team, the president of College Republicans, Scholarship Chair of Kappa Delta Sorority and the 1999 Homecoming Queen.
Graduating magna cum laude, Dr. Mewha was honored with a research distinction from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for her work on breast cancer therapies.
