Birgit Kräling is responsible for monitoring the deal flow and the smaller stake investments.
Her core competencies are knowledge management, market and deal analysis, and technology scouting.
As a cell biologist with a focus on biomedical research in immunology and oncology, Dr. Kräling gained her scientific expertise through pre- and post-doctoral training in the U.S.
at The Wistar Institute (Philadelphia) and The Children's Hospital of Harvard Medical School (Boston), and as a research scientist at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ; German Cancer Research Center) in Heidelberg.
In 2000, she joined the Innovation Team Biotechnology of Deutsche Bank AG in Frankfurt as a scientific relationship manager where she analyzed biotechnology companies and consulted on commercial banking activities in the German life science industry.
She joined HI in 2002.
