Beau Laskey is a managing partner at SVB Capital, responsible for sourcing and executing direct venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) investments.
Beau has spent the last 20 years in technology, finance and operational leadership roles, investing across the technology landscape.
Before joining SVB, Beau was a managing director with Steamboat Ventures, the VC investment group of the Walt Disney Company, where he focused on media, technology and consumer internet investment opportunities.
Earlier in his career, he was a managing director of EDF Ventures in San Diego, an early-stage VC fund focused on creating and incubating technology companies based on university research and intellectual property.
He started his career in the US Navy as an officer in the SEAL Teams, where he deployed worldwide supporting US military operations.
Beau graduated with Merit from the United States Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in economics and general engineering and received an MBA with Distinction in entrepreneurship and corporate strategy from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
